“We used Essential Psychology to help with a University Application for our daughter. We were totally at a loss as to what we needed. The team at Essential Psychology took the time and patience to deal with all our queries and we were soon reassured about what we needed and how best to achieve it. They offer both interviews at their business and at the client’s home which, in our case, proved very useful for our particular needs.
Dr Davies was very patient throughout the assessment. We were very pleased with the whole service, from the friendly and informative information, to the short time it took to obtain an appointment and the prompt delivery of the assessment report.
We wish to thank Essential Psychology for all their assistance.”
“Dr Davies at Essential Psychology listened and was very patient, friendly and had great empathy with my concerns around my daughter’s educational needs. The flexibility of a home visit ensured that we got the best possible assessment for our daughter in our home where she is at her most comfortable. I have no concerns about recommending Essential Psychology as an outstanding service within the educational field.”
“We used the services of Essential Psychology when we were having issues with my son at school. I found Dr Davies to be very understanding. When Dr Davies tested our son, who was 6 at the time, she was very engaging with him from the start; so much so that my son actually enjoyed the testing and asked when he would be seeing Dr Davies again! The report that was produced following the testing was done so in a timely manner and was very clear and concise. Essential Psychology advised us on how to work with the school and have helped us resolve the issues. I can highly recommend using the services of Essential Psychology.”
“As parents, we found ourselves in a position of trying to ascertain if our teenage son had dyslexia. He was increasingly convinced there was something at the root of his reading, writing and problem solving abilities, but not severe enough to impact his grades as yet. We found Essential Psychology to be an immediate source of knowledge and experience, guiding us and our son through the process to determine if he was dyslexic or not. Jo Bartholomew put our son at ease straight away and the whole assessment was completed in a professional, friendly manner in our own home, with no stress or complicated processes. The results were very comprehensive and did explain away a number of his key difficulties with timed exams. From a position of knowing very little about the subject, Essential Psychology has now given our son the findings to ensure he has the additional support as he completes his A-level studies and his future plans for university. We would thoroughly recommend them to any parents who find themselves in a similar position.”
My daughter Kate needed a psychology report because she had been talent spotted by a coach for Swim Wales; the report would enable my daughter to swim for the welsh disability squad. Dr. Jo Davies carried out the assessment on Kate and I was a little nervous about the visit but needn’t have been as she put me at ease straight away. The assessment was carried out in a very professional manner and I felt very relaxed answering the questions. One of the things I was really pleased about was that Essential Psychology gave you the option to have a home visit, this is the option I took. The whole experience was stress free and I would recommend the company to anyone needing a psychology report.
“Essential Psychology were recommended to us when we were seeking an updated education psychology report for our daughter. It was imperative to us to find a professional who could relate to and bring out the best in our child as the previous year had been a tough one involving a school move and many assessments.
We were not disappointed; from the first phone call to the assessment, both ourselves as parents and our daughter were given time and attention. A real effort was made to understand the details of our situation so the maximum benefit could be derived from the assessment.
The actual assessment was carried out in a very friendly and relaxed environment and time afterwards to discuss how it had proceeded was not an issue. The actual hard copy report was thorough and not only explained in detail the results but full of practical strategies to use in the coming year.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this organisation and fully intend on returning to them in the coming years to support our daughter as she progresses through senior school.”
“I found Dr Davies to be very thorough in her assessment of my son and she produced a very comprehensive and well-written report which was instrumental in securing the necessary funding for my son to attend a specialist residential college.”
“Having read the report through a few times now, I would like to say what an excellent job you have done. I know we are incredibly lucky to have got an awareness of our daughter’s specific difficulty so early. It has given all of us involved in her care and education a direction to work towards. I think the one thing that has made a huge impact already is the instruction giving and reinforcement and the acknowledgement that she really cannot recall things as opposed to not knowing them. We have seen an improvement in her bed wetting as well and she has had 10 dry nights in a row. She also seems happier, which is great!”
“We would like to thank you (Jo Bartholomew) for all your help over the years, which has enabled Jacob to gain three A levels and access to university. He always enjoyed your visits and from an early age appreciated that he would not have succeeded without your advice and support.”
“As a school, we feel very much supported by our Educational Psychologist (Jo Davies). She is very child centred and knowledgeable. Jo is understanding, approachable and sensitive to the needs of our students and their parents.”
